After did the reuse exchange, i got a simulated lawn,start from that, i tried to find out the features of the simulated lawn.—Thick, Hervey, large, Green color, Rough,Full of plastic grass.Then i decided to focus on this key word:plastic grass.Then i found a book relate to grass in the library, and i attracted by the cover the book:that's a cow."Why can a cow eat grass?"Then i started to focus on another key word:eat.From "eat" turned to "food",Finally i have decided my thesis—food.

I'm get used to record what i cook&eat everyday, so i decided to make my own food diary in order to found how food related to us.
After that, i noticed that every meals we finished would produce a lot of rubbish, for example it's always full in the garbage room of our accommodation—that is all "food waste".
The UK currently wastes over 15m tonnes of food each year. Of the 7 million tonnes of food waste discarded from homes, nearly half is edible.
The first kind of food waste is food packaging.It become more and more serious within the recent few years.Then i collected some of my food packaging after meals to do some collage.
I was attracted by the banana skin from this image.
I collected my banana skin and put it somewhere try for a few day, and record the color and texture change between days. After i took pictures and put all the pictures together started to lay out them, i found they looks like some really interesting eyes, mouths, and faces.
I put all the food residue together and started to think about what i could become.Fernando Laposse's project"Totomoxtle"gave me idea. Totomoxtle is a new veneer material made with husks of heirloom Mexican corn.So i think about to make full use of my food residue, and i found out most of my food residue were different kind of food skin.
Process to make new materials by food skin
I tried a few glue materials like white glue and Silica gel and mix them with my food skin in order to stick them together but it can't be mix together perfectly, and i thought about to cook them, melt them in a way i make dessert.I crushed some orange skin and lemon skin with a juicer, then cook them with Gelatin. After that i dried them for a few day, it became totally new materials.
And in another way, i found out that the natural color on the food skin is very beautiful, such as the Color of red onion and chrysanthemum. I tried to cook them and after that put my white fabric into the the color water in order to dye them using the high temperature.
